manaomea - sustainable, connecting & creating - is a startup from Munich that lives the Social Business idea. We innovate worldwide in all sectors with heart, power and style. Our first WOW-products derive “the little pencil-revolution”: 3 extraordinary, innovative textile pencils made of natural fibers and a biopolymer, together with a smart pencil case.
Why we do what we do? Because we want to deeply move people and make them happy, to change the world to the better together.
From material input through production, we emphasize fairness and environmental impact and act on ethical trade fundamentals. We developed a patented production technology that enables us to make pencils at the lowest possible harm of natural resources. Our production technique works with annually renewable natural fibers (jute, linen & cotton) and a biopolymer made from agricultural waste. The pencils stand out with the shape variations, colors, surfaces and haptic experiences not possible to create in wood.
Our social production takes place at several points: The pencil cases are sewn by deeply traumatized women, and the production sites located in the producing areas of the fibers are in development. The goal behind it, is to increase the value creation on-site and go one step further of the sole fair and organic purchase of our materials. As a result, we give the people the opportunity to earn one’s keep and at the same time give the kids the pencils to go to school. We want to connect people of different cultures worldwide and foster a joint respect. Through the transfer of know-how and production technology, in combination with the cultural challenges we see a chance to change the world to the better together.
