AtelierVA is grounded in the network society, where value is created by connectivity. This subdues the traditional society, where divisions are made in hierarchical structures, and concepts such as the hereditary rule (familiar ties) or professionalism (knowledge ties). Instead, in a network society, structures are shaped by continuous flows of information. Accessibility to these flows becomes the dominant value.
AtelierVA believes the new spatial makers are the answer to make, and to keep, our cities and regions livable. Our passion is to redefine the ‘old boys networks’ and to let everybody feel, they can take responsibility to their surroundings, and mould it the way they like to see it. We see this taking place in the many community-led organisations that sprung up during the last years.
