General information:

Over the past four years, the CzechAccelerator project has helped innovative firms gain experience with doing business in advanced foreign markets, particularly through development of management experience and enhancement of marketing skills. Part of the provision of consulting services consists in support within the process of obtaining financing in the form of venture capital and from business angels, easy access to potential strategic partners and top advisors, and participation in networking events and seminars with investors. Since 2011 it was announced 6 calls in total and the project has supported 39 companies.

The project was focused on firms with innovative, commercially viable products in the fields of ICT, life sciences, nanotechnology, biotechnology, medical technology, clean technologies and precision engineering.

CzechAccelerator will continue in the next programming period (approx. 2015).

What successful applicants receive

pre-departure legal and marketing training focused on formulating a business plan, effective communication with
investors and patent protection
free use of office spaces in the selected destination
easy access to potential strategic partners and top-quality advisors
the opportunity to participate in regularly scheduled networking events and seminars with investors
familiarisation with the local business environment through a foreign partner (“ecosystem overview”)
travel costs and contribution for accommodation

Participation timeframe

1) One residency with duration of 3-6 months
2) Two residencies during the course of a six-month period, of which each residency may not be shorter than one month and there must be an interval of at least one month between residencies. The total duration of both residencies must be at least four months.

Conditions of participation

The applicant must

be a small or medium-sized enterprise
possess an innovative product
have strong interest and motivation with regard to penetrating international market

When the project is going to continue?

According to the current plans, CzechAccelerator will continue in the next programming period from 2015. First companies could travel to the foreign destinations during the second half of the year 2016. CzechInvest is going to continue supporting young and promising Czech companies.
