Corner Sight Distance plans

A corner sight distances plan is needed in San Diego County to ensure that drivers and pedestrians have enough clear visibility at intersections to safely perceive hazards and react to them, by providing traffic control services we preventing accidents. These plans specify how much open space is required around a corner, often by setting clear boundaries (like a visibility triangle) and prohibiting or restricting obstructions such as signs, walls, or landscaping within that area to maintain adequate sight lines for safe traffic movement and pedestrian crossings.

Field Survey & Documentation:

Site walk, measurements, and photo log capturing grades, obstructions, parking, signage, and lane use so calculations reflect real conditions on the ground.

Sight Triangle Analysis & Calculations:

Required vs available sight distance using agency criteria, AASHTO methods, and appropriate speed assumptions, with clear exhibits and calc sheets.

Certification Letter for the Corner Sight Distance

Engineer would certify that the corner sight distance is adequate and unobstructed, clarifies that the required sight distance falls within the existing street right-of-way, project detail, contact information and attached supporting documentation.
