Automation Engineer

Apiary is now being used by large companies around the world, including names like SalesForce, Microsoft, GoPro, CSAS or even Red Bull. To help find those companies and help them succeed with us, we need an engineering help—you.

As an Automation Engineer, you'll be responsible for connecting our systems to provide the right answers. Sometimes, it may be as simple as clicking in a Zapier, sometimes it will mean running a data extraction on top of our database, exposing an API and ingesting it into another one.

This role is about understanding intents as much as it is about writing solutions. You should be comfortable talking to people, you should strive to ask the right questions and you should be self-driven towards providing answers. While you'll join our office in Prague, you'll be talking a lot to our San Francisco office.

This is an excellent position if you are just entering the software engineering space and want to improve. 

Requirements

• EU citizenship (or EU permanent residency), willing to relocate to Prague
• Knowledge of JavaScript in server environment, knowledge of other scripting language a plus (preferably Python)
• Self-sufficient (you don't know all the answers, but you can get them and you are pushing your tasks forward on your own)
• Comfortable with ideas of Continuous Delivery (deploying and delivering multiple times every day)
• Workable knowledge of frontend (sometimes, you'll need to edit that page)
• Experience with (automated) testing, TDD/BDD a plus
• Willingness to run what you've build (and carrying pager to prove it)
• Interest in product you are building (and willing to talk to customers about it; everybody in the company rotates on user support)
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• Ability to keep calm under pressure
• Experience working with APIs is a plus
• Able to work in our Prague office (either based near Prague or willing to relocate)
