CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Type: Full-time.

Location: Kolektif House, Levent

Working Hours: 9-6

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the company’s technology strategy serves its business strategy and not the other way around. Decide on technology stack, solution architecture, and help all stakeholders visualize the components of the product in graphic detail.
• Translate the geek-speak into English for other executive colleagues. This requires solid understanding of business requirements understanding, market dynamics, and technology.
• Master in finding the 80/20 of product features. Sometimes business requirements come fully spec’ed out, and it takes a great CTO to figure out the 20 that will deliver the 80 of business objectives.
• Have financial understanding of development costs and P&L. Develop a certain solution in-house or buy it from a 3rd party?
• Help build, manage, validate, and scale Volt’s Product Roadmap.
• Champion of best practices. You may have to garbage guy and clean the code from time to time. Making reviews on code quality is an important activity that you should follow. In short, you need to know when to code, and when to lead.
• Manage expectations, set targets and measure progress.
• Own the development methodology by being the gatekeeper for scheduled, always on-time release trains.
• You’ll handle the hiring, firing, task assignment in the tech team. Salary management, talent development, and team building are also included in your scope.
• Create a positive work culture with discipline and hunger for excellence at the core of it. Volt developers deliver their world class work when challenged, inspired, and well treated.
• Help build a progressive learning culture where developing people is just as core as developing the product. One of your biggest responsibilities is to grow technical leaders out of the team.
• Product Innovation through Research and continuous improvement. Provide critical and factual inputs for IP Creation.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in software development and leadership roles in development teams
• Excellent communication skills, robust command of English
• Proven project management skills, experience of managing others is a must
• Being a technical evangelist through blogging or public speaking is a big plus
• Inspiring can do attitude. Never says “impossible”, always comes with “options”
• Familiar with cloud architecture such as AWS
• Python, Django, iOS or Android experience is a huge plus. Having managed or led a mobile development team comes in real handy here.
