Communication and Social Media Coordinator

This position is responsible for developing and implementing corporate communication strategies, social media programs and reputation management to support overall exposure as well as employee engagement.

Working with colleagues across the company, the Communication and Social Media Coordinator must have a finger on the pulse of what is happening internally and across social platforms on a day-to-day basis. The right person will be passionate about figuring out what works and consequently create, refine, enhance and deliver messaging internally as well as to the public and media.

Essential Functions:

  • Write, edit and proofread communication meant for internal and external use, including but not limited to press releases, media kits, internal communication, web content, etc.
  • Responsible for creating reputation management strategies on various social media platforms
  • Daily social media monitoring and engagement, answer questions and comments from users
  • Monitor online sentiment with social listening, and report on any trends or insights
  • Create organic, engaging content, source images and write compelling copy for social media and corporate use
  • Help create and maintain corporate blog
  • Gather and edit content submitted by various departments
  • Build and strengthen relationships with internal staff and departments
  • Provides communication support to all departments  
  • Maintain corporate event calendar for internal communication needs
  • Develop strong relationship with external public relations teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing
  • 3+ years’ experience in media, public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field
    2+ years’ social media experience
  • Strong understanding of good communication practices
  • Must be comfortable writing/editing in French and English
  • Must be comfortable working independently
  • Must be resourceful and organized
  • Must be flexible and able to handle routine as well as unexpected assignments
