Communication Associate (Intern)
Who we are
Storefront is the largest international marketplace for short-term commercial space rental. We connect brands with retail spaces for the purpose of pop-up shops, showrooms, product launches and other events. We're the "Airbnb for pop-up stores" and we are revolutionizing the retail industry.
Our platform powers over 10,000 listings, which represents more than 30 million square feet of retail space. We offer greater access to spaces in leading retail cities around the world, including New York City, Paris, London, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam. Since our launch in 2014, we have helped thousands or brands all over the world open temporary retail stores. These brands include Google, Samsung and L'Oreal and Heineken.
Storefront team consists of passionate 40+ people, based in Paris, London, Amsterdam, New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a marketing and communications associate internally. Someone who thrives on communicating both verbally and through their writing and who is passionate about joining us in changing the world of retail.
Web content
- Write and publish innovative new articles related to the fields of Pop-Up Stores and retail and news related to Storefront
Community management
- Create and publish exciting content, images and text (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
- Engage with our community and manage our multi-platform social media strategy
- Identify key influencers and partners and establish a dialogue with them to increase our brand awareness and reach our communities.
- Be responsible for tracking and reporting our performance on our key social networks
- Monitor market trends and our competitors' movements
Communication
- Create mailings and information updates for customers and other stakeholders
- Create communication tools for sales teams (flyers, brochures, presentations)
- Write press releases
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in communication / marketing / literature studies, journalism, business school or other fields with an emphasis on communication
- Experience in editorial / communication / marketing is a plus
- Excellent written communication skills
- Native or fluent in Dutch and English and excellent knowledge of both Dutch and English grammar and spelling
- Outgoing, creative and comfortable with reporting, infographics and data visuals
- A good understanding of social media and branding strategies
- Knowledgeable about online communities
- Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
- An eye for design and creativity
