Job Description
Considering the number of FLIR divisions managing different product lines and related potential personal data processing activities, FLIR has decided to designate a dedicated individual entrusted with the coordination of compliance with GDPR by all these different divisions. When the coordinated GDPR compliance is up to speed, the job holder will engage in additional compliance areas. The Data Privacy & Compliance manager (DPM) will report to the Vice-President Legal EMEA.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: List the fundamental duties of the position
The DP&C Manager will oversee all personal data protection obligations and processing activities of the EMEA operations of the company. In close cooperation with stakeholders and support functions, he/she will design and/or enhance the policies and procedures that ensure compliance with GDPR, coordinate and facilitate effective implementation of those policies and procedures, ensures that all staff receive customized training, assign responsibilities and coordinate the response to all requests received from data subjects.
Additional job description:
- Drives the planning, implementation, administration and communication of data privacy and compliance across the company. Works cross-functionally with stakeholders in products and services, marketing and business development, vendor management and other businesses as applicable to ensure effective processes and compliance.
- Applies privacy and regulatory requirements on an operational level, monitors internal controls, audits, oversees assessment and mitigation of current program risks and directs program training and awareness.
- Investigates and responds to data privacy inquiries and incidents.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a track record of successfully building partnerships with all the business and support functions in order to fully understand all business operations and related data flows

Job Qualifications: Include minimum education, work experience, knowledge & skills necessary to perform the functions of the job
- Master's degree preferably in Law complemented with a postgraduate degree in data protection law
Other Qualification: Include any preferred education, work experience, knowledge and skills
- 5 years of experience as a compliance officer or as an in-house counsel in EU data protection
Solid understanding of the technical landscape (GDPR) with the ability to convert complex and multiple requirements into clear policies and procedures which are adapted to their specific audience
