Design Lead

We are looking for Design Lead to lead the design team and to be the company's authority on all related activities.You will lead product design processes, from building new products & improving current ones, to developing the Colu brand and working with the marketing team to attract new customers. You will lead all the product design efforts, working closely with product managers and engineers, to ensure that all the product lines are something you are proud of.

Responsibilities

• Lead team meetings and strategy sessions
• Lead Colu’s product design culture and establish a team structure
• Work with your team to optimize output and ensure that the large volume of deliverables requested of the design team on a daily basis are completed on time
• Establish and maintain meaningful collaboration with peers, stakeholders, product managers, and developers cross company
• Serve as an advocate for design thinking across the business
• Create design initiatives that meet the business objectives
• Evolve look and feel for all creative channels
• Roll up your sleeves and contribute as a designer when necessary
• Building and maintaining style guides and streamlined UI/UX workflows
• Hire, onboard, train, and mentor new team members

Requirements

• 2+ years industry experience in a managing a Design team
• 5+ years of design experience
• Strong portfolio that showcases your talents
• Great communication and collaboration skills
• Proven track record of UX/UI
• Proven experience with working with product teams
• Great eye and standard for design quality
• An appreciation of startup culture and the challenges of working in a dynamic fast paced environment
• Extensive mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, and InVision, with a strong understanding of when design teams should be using each tool
• Ability to consider long-term sustainability in all design decisions and maintain an eye for reusability in designs
• Excellent problem solving skills and creative thinking
• Self-taught, curious, fast learner, fast to respond
