Description

What You’ll Do

Oracle Cloud Platform is the group that manages the business related to
Oracle’s technology assets including public cloud IaaS and PaaS, on-premise
database, on-premise middleware and Cloud@Customer solutions. The Cloud
Platform team provides a single face to Oracle’s customers in their solution
assessment and procurement.

Oracle is looking for high energy, innovative and motivated individuals
to lead and manage the country-specific sales consulting teams of the Cloud
Platform business.  The current
requirement is for a Director Solution
Engineering Cloud Platform for ALPS.

The successful candidate will have a unique
opportunity to lead and grow an innovative, modern cloud-focused Sales

Whether
you’re onsite or sharing your expertise via the cloud, you’ll deliver top-class
support and inspire customer loyalty.  As
a Director Solution Engineering Cloud Platform you will:

  • Lead, grow and develop an organization of
    10+ highly motivated and high performing Sales Consultants (SCs) and consulting
    managers
  • Work closely with the Sales head of the
    region to develop account strategies, opportunity strategies and plans across
    different segments of the market
  • Design/ leverage and implement programs that result in
    adequate pipeline to ensure over-achievement of revenue targets
  • Assist in meeting and exceeding the
    country and regional (ALPS) revenue targets for the Cloud Platform team
  • Continually evolve/transform the sales
    consulting model towards Cloud Services selling, defining and implementing best
    practice in customer engagement tools and techniques
  • Ensure that the team is fully staffed and
    enabled, with ongoing talent management and development programs in place for
    SCs
  • Align solution enablement activities with
    the schedule of sales and marketing programs and ensure necessary resources and
    enablement materials are in place to support execution of these Programs
  • Inspire the team to drive outstanding
    success for our customers, partners and the sales teams that the Sales
    Consultants support
  • Build the structures and culture to ensure
    teams in the country are collaborating with Specialist teams and leveraging the
    expertise available in the region and across ALPS
  • Provide leadership for the team to ensure
    that KPI’s are alligned to business needs, clearly defined and met.
  • Build and maintain strong links to Sales
    and Product Leadership to ensure clear communication and close alignment to
    market requirements
  • Coach the sales teams on effective ways of dealing
    with competitive traps and objection handling.

Required Skills/Experience

We also look for:

  • Overall 10-15 years in the Information
    Technology industry
  • Leadership experience in a sales
    consulting or technical sales environment­
  • A strong understanding of the Cloud
    marketplace and the Oracle Cloud offerings portfolio, as well as specifics of
    selling and consumption of cloud services
  • A strong understanding of technology
    related to either data management or integration management or both. Experience
    in Oracle database or middleware technologies would be an added advantage
  • Strong ability to bridge business side with technical
    side, articulating  business value and
    benefits of different technology solutions in terms of TCO & ROI –
    Credibility at all levels – externally and internally,  including lines of business and CXOs
  • A passion for people development is
    essential, with a successful track record of hiring and developing technical
    experts in a multi-cultural environment
  • Knowledge around areas such as software
    defined datacenters & networks, native cloud & mobile applications
    development, migration of Oracle & non-Oracle workloads, VMW & KVM,
    application & data integration, big data analytics, cloud security etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; strong problem solving skills and the ability to
    succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in working in ALPS and working
    with customers/customer evaluation processes in the ALPS market.
  • Fluency in German is a prerequisite;
    knowledge of French would be an added advantage.
