About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Engineer Manager to lead a group of data center engineers within the Data Center Operations team. This roles’ responsibilities will include but not limited to: managing people with varying skill-sets, creating and implementing processes, devise strategies, cross-train team members, sponsor projects, propose technical solutions as well as coordinate/work with cross-functional teams and resources needed to achieve the department/company goals.
Responsibilities
- Build, support, and lead a team of data center engineers
- Collaborate and leverage project managers to support prioritization and triage
- Be part of an on-call rotation for data center issue escalations
- Develop needed operational KPIs and metrics for each project
- Manage and improve workflows throughput for data center operations
- Validate and update policies, processes, and procedures for all aspects of data center operations
- Develop operational SLAs
- Review incident reports, document periodic trend summaries, and provide updates and recommend best practices to management.
- Engage and communicate with cross-functional teams/stakeholders to improve day to day operations
- Effectively work in a global team environment
- Communicate with external/internet datacenter provider to assist with projects
- Comfortable managing teams/projects with tight deadlines
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data-center and/or telecommunications industry
- Knowledgeable of physical, structural, and fiber-optic (cabling) infrastructure design
- 5+ years of direct people management experience (leading, growing, and mentoring)
- Experience building edge data center deployments (including power planning, cage and cabinet build)
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
- Excel at planning, creating teams, overseeing execution to meet commitments, and deliver with predictability
- Experience working with multiple time zones and multiple cross-functional teams
- Experience in analyzing situations and problem-solving
- Strong competency with project management tools (admin-level experience strongly preferred for Confluence, JIRA )

- Experience founding or leading a startup
- Multi-lingual; experience working with infrastructure in multiple countries
- Ability to write scripts for internal tools
