Java(Scala) Lead Engineer

Main responsibilities

  • Lead a growing development team
  • Lead your team’s assignments both technically and operatively
  • Write code and be hands on for at least a third of your time
  • Design and develop modules for a high-end product that serves hundreds of millions of transactions a day and lead your team members in doing so
  • Deploy your code to production in a continuous manner and lead your team members in doing so
  • Be responsible for the wellbeing of your application in production and lead your team members in doing so
  • Work with product managers to define, prioritize and finalize features

Mandatory requirements

  • B.Sc. in computer science or related discipline
  • 2-3 experience in leading a development team
  • 4 years of software development experience in server side languages
  • Experience with development of online, cloud based SaaS products, with emphasis on large scale performance issues and database work
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with Big Data development – an advantage
  • Experience with web server or client side development – an advantage
  • Experience in Java, Scala, JavaScript (Angular and React), Flex or PHP – an advantage
  • Experience with Linux in a production environment – an advantage
  • Must have a passion for technology and quality
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Appreciation of deadlines is essential
