Marketing Associate (m/f)

Job Description

Do you love solving challenging problems, collaborating with really smart people, and leveraging technology for rapid innovation? Then apply for an entry level position in our European Marketing team. As a Marketing Associate your job is to utilize your organisational and technical skills, great attention to detail, problem solving inventiveness, and communication skills to develop and launch marketing campaigns that reach millions of customers every day. Part of these campaigns are delivering emails, sending push notifications or printed direct mailings.

We are building the marketing platform to run a pan-European online home & lifestyle business and replicate the success of our US parent company. At Wayfair Europe, you have the possibility to work in an exciting and rapidly-evolving startup-like environment in Berlin while being backed by the technical expertise and know-how of a large and successful US business.

We are running all our marketing campaigns with a very data-driven mindset with a maniacal focus on steering the investments into our marketing channels based on clear ROI targets. We achieve that by having a testing culture in everything we do (“We win or we Learn”) and a tight collaboration with a large group of data scientists dedicated on marketing related questions.

We are seeking a top performer with a strategic and analytical mindset to continually improve our programs and evolve our approach to reach customers and cultivate loyalty to our brand.
 

You will:

  • Own and optimize core processes of a marketing channel
  • Analyze channel performance assessing trends in revenue, traffic, efficiency and more, troubleshooting challenges and identifying areas of opportunity
  • Drive negotiations with business partners to make channels more efficient such as through price reductions, accelerated schedules, or bundled delivery
  • Forge new vendor relationships and work with third-party partners on contract management meeting deadlines of core processes
  • Research categories and vendors to build out selection
  • Maintain and build cross-functional relationships, collaborating frequently with other Wayfair departments
  • Generate ideas and new testing campaigns for customer growth opportunities
  • Use creative strategy and data to communicate efficiently
  • Identify new, profitable opportunities for targeting and segmentation

Your profile:

  • Sufficient work experience in a related field in customer growth, contracts, public relations, or advertising
  • Great people skills (previous account or project management is a plus)
  • Experience with data analysis, particularly efficient with MS Excel
  • Outstanding communicator who excels in working in cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented and fast moving; Able to multitask across different detailed processes
  • Fluency in English, ideally also in German
  • Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Comfortable in technology-driven business environment, great attitude and a sense of humor – we are a hardworking team in an open seating environment!
