Job Function

The Production Manager reports to the Head of Production and Engineering and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Production Plants, Tank Farm and Packing Shed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, manage and monitor production plants to ensure that the product quality and quantity meets all requirements and align efforts of plant production staff with goals of the plant, business and corporation

  • Work as a team and interact with all involved parties (internal and external) to resolve operational problems in a safe manner and as soon as possible

  • Operate the production plants in the field and on the panel and provide induction training for new Evonik Peroxide Africa staff when required

  • Lead/support (improvement) projects and plant maintenance shutdowns in close collaboration with operations and engineering team; this includes design input, operational review plans, HAZOP reviews and scheduling of work

  • Ensure that production plants, tank farm and packing shed operations are safe according to the respective manuals and comply with OSHAct, corporate and ISO standards as well as guiding princiles; attain goals with regards to safety, health, environment and production by managing the actions of involved staff

  • Ensure that the plant documentation and manuals are up-to-date; responsible for incident reporting in the production

  • Ensure that qualified technicians are hired and developed to Production coordinator capabilities; coach, develop, and manage the performance of production personn
