PROGRAMMER FOR STOKHOS

Stokhos is looking for a programmer! As a programmer you will mainly be responsible for developing our Software suite. Key tasks are programming real-time relocation and simulation programme for determining strategic locations. You will fulfil an essential role in translating technical software material and the end-user at the ambulance location. You will also proactively be involved in how to tackle new technical challenges at Stokhos and how we will strategically expand our service internationally.

Stokhos has the goal to enable ambulances to always arrive on time and at the correct location. Currently, in the Netherlands 7% of all ambulances arrive too late. As a result, an estimated number of 35,000 patients per year do not receive proper care in time. This has a massive impact on the mortality and morbidity of these patients. At Stokhos we believe something has to be done about this!

Stokhos Emergency Mathematics is a software solution that enables the proactive relocation of ambulances based on predictions of future demand. With our emergency mathematics, ambulance centres can dramatically reduce the time necessary to dispatch an ambulance. Our software also reduces the driving time of ambulances through optimising the most efficient route. We are looking for:

  • Recently graduated high potentials (MSc) in the field of computer sciences, information sciences, mathematics, econometrics or physics
  • Experience in object oriented software programming (C++) and basic knowledge of linux
  • Experience with data-base systems (MySQL, PostgresQL)
  • Experience with OpenGL/GLUT, boost libraries, C+ +11 and networks is beneficial
  • Enthusiasm to work for a start-up and affinity with the health-tech sector

We offer:

  • A minimum of 24 hours to maximum of 40 hour work week
  • Contract for 3 to 6 months with a possibility for extension
