Project Manager

WHO WE ARE

Developers at Gametech build high-performance distributed software to power a unique financial betting platform. We don’t spend hours talking about doing things in meetings and we don’t waste our time writing specs (except when we need them). We build things. When we have an idea we’ll normally have it in production by the end of the week.
The Gametech team is growing quickly (currently 15 developers) so you’ll have a real opportunity to shape not just the software itself, but the whole company.

THE PROJECT MANAGER WILL

  • Use leadership, organisation, problem-solving, motivational skills and experience to ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet expectations.
  • Have several years’ experience managing technical projects, ideally using agile methodologies.
  • Coach the team to develop skills such as story creation and vertical story slicing, agile approaches, estimation, prioritisation as needed.

If this sounds interesting, here’s what we’ll need from you:

  • Proven ability in Agile Project Manager/Scrum Master/project manager role in a development environment throughout the full development lifecycle.
  • Must be able to lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team.
  • Assertive nature to ensure project concepts and principles are adhered to, must be able to be a voice of reason and authority, make the tough calls
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, keeping the team focused on delivery.
  • Stakeholder management needs to be advanced and evident in recent assignments.
  • Pragmatic and realistic behaviour in balancing the start-up nature of the organisation with the need to implement a level of control and transparency.
  • Must be able to encourage discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches.
  • Ability to prioritise time and effort on the highest value work, balancing the needs of multiple projects for differing stakeholders.
  • Able to produce concise management information to convey complex issues in plain language.
  • In depth understanding of tools and processes for management of Agile development processes (we use Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket and Test Driven Development approaches).
