Job Title: Project Manager (Biosciences)

Reporting to: Head of Field Operations

Responsible for: Managing international development projects including budget and resources

Purpose of the job

We are looking for a competent, enthusiastic Project Manager to join our team. You will represent Oxitec as the Project Manager for international development projects that aims to bridge from POC to implementation for Oxitec’s mosquito technology. Based in the UK this role will interact at a high level with our established partners for which some international travel will be required, initially in the Indian subcontinent. You will be required to bring together members from regulatory, communications and engineering teams to execute the project.  Reporting to the company Head of Field Operations, technical guidance and support will be made available.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Representing Oxitec internationally as Project Manager
  • Managing project budget and resources
  • Engaging 3rd parties where required to meet the project objectives
  • Data handling, analysis and reporting
  • Presenting results to internal management and sponsors
  • Effective stakeholder management and communications

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree-level education or equivalent in an appropriate scientific discipline
  • Formal Project Management training such as PMP/Prince 2
  • Proven successful delivery of medium to large-scale projects in the agriculture industry, food or feed, manufacturing, pharmaceutical or like industry
  • Management of project budgets of up to £1 million
  • Able communicator with good presentation skills, comfortable interacting with senior peers
  • An understanding of genetics, GMOs and ideally, biotechnology experience
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
