Social Media Executive (with German)

London & Partners are seeking a fluent German speaker who is a fun, enthusiastic and creative social expert to help promote the London on a global stage. L&P is the Mayor of London’s official promotional agency – we market London imaginatively to attract new businesses, events, congresses, student and visitors to our wonderful capital. Our main goals are to build London’s international reputation, attract investment and visitor spend and, in turn, create jobs and growth.

Your job will be to leverage our industry-leading social accounts (with combined followers of over 2.6 million!) to reach and engage our targets audiences, across leisure and business tourism. Our mission is to tell London’s story brilliantly – whether it be through a fun Instagram story, a high-production live stream or 140 characters within a tweet.

Key Tasks:
 

  • Being creative and enthusiastic about London and all it has to offer
  • Keeping-up-to date with a face-paced social world. Share new trends and updates with the wider team when valuable
  • Source/create and schedule content London & Partners social media channels (Visit/Study London, London CVB and London Business)
  • Consistent and engaging community management – with a view to capitalise on real-time conversations that reach and influence our target audiences, particularly German (but otherwise US and FR)
  • Work with Social Media Lead, Marketing Planners, Design and Campaign teams to plan and deliver highly engaging social media activity and integrated campaigns
  • Further to our general target audiences, you will take lead on developing knowledge of our German target audiences and the marketing activity designed to reach them
  • Actively contribute to more innovation sessions and plan social based on strategy, calendars and insight
  • Regular reporting to show progress against targets, and consistent analysis to help inform future activity
  • Follow and build on our social media guidelines – these are designed to optimise output and protect L&P’s reputation – they may include things such as how to handle crisis communications and ‘going live’ protocols
  • Occasional out-of-hours social media cover with opportunity to attend events to cover ‘live’ or in Stories
  • Any other reasonable tasks as allocated by line manager

You'll have:

  • Fluent in English and German with excellent writing skills
  • Relevant experience (preferably within a marketing business or agency environment)
  • Customer first and data-led, using audience data to inform activity and achieve goals
  • Demonstrable knowledge and passion for all things social
  • A track record delivering engaging social content across a range of exciting channels and audiences (preferably business and consumer)
  • Creative thinker with the ability to think outside of the box. Suggest new and engaging ideas/concepts which help to meet our objectives
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to write engaging and inspiring copy
  • Experience using social media management and analytics tools
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle enquiries in a courteous and helpful manner
  • Creative skills, for example: photography, videography, and graphic design
  • Interest in both current affairs and social media trends with ability to identify suitable stories for our channels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
