We are an agile, Berlin-based e-commerce brand providing exceptional-quality homewares at an exceptionally fair price. Software Engineer (PHP) (m/f)

to help us build a scalable and fast e-commerce platform based on the best usage of latest technology, processes and methodologies. Enthusiastic about new and innovative ideas, you will motivate and guide your team to develop high-quality, creative solutions. By practicing Agile and Test-Driven Development practices, as well as Functional and Behavioural Testing, your implementation of new, cutting-edge technologies will help drive the brand forward, preparing it for larger and international markets.

 

Day-to-day, this means:

  • Oversee and guide the implementation of a new platform, as well as influence and design new projects

  • Build next-generation web applications with a user-centric approach

  • Support in designing and implementing APIs for SPA's, mobile and other third party apps

  • Integrate payment providers, logistics providers, BI, and other internal tools

  • Develop micro-services to support daily basis operation

  • Ensuring high-quality output that is efficient and delivered on time,

  • Leading by example and coding with your team

  • Helping us to innovate bringing new ideas and knowledge

 

You’d describe yourself as:

  • An expert in PHP with 6+ years of relevant experience in back-end development

  • Fluent in PHP 5 (PHP 7 a plus), Event Driven Development, ecommerce development, Javascript (strong and well structured javascript knowledge) and Redis

  • Having a deep understanding of Symfony2, Doctrine2, Object Orientation, Clean Code and Design Patterns

  • Having good knowledge in data modeling, design patterns and Scrum

  • Experienced with RESTful Applications and Agile Development

  • Having great analytic vision and software architecture capabilities

  • Fluent in English

  • Teamwork spirit

  • Nice to know but not required:

    • Symfony3

    • WebSockets

    • DDD

    • BDD

    • ReactJS

    • Message Queue Systems/Development
