The use of Big Data Analytics and threat models in the toolset of Prescriptive SOC makes the Information analysis and processing layer reliant on data engineers and data science profiles with solid Cyber Security competences. In fact, the Big Data & Analytics tools alone or misused can be ineffective; i.e. produce false negatives while generating for your already challenged SOC more workload from processing their false positives. The cyber data engineers and data scientists play an essential role in the new Security Operations Centers by developing and continuously improving this toolset making it more and more efficient in the mission that it has been designed for – detecting and rapidly responding to security threats.

We’re looking for Junior, Regular and Senior Business Intelligence Developers / Data Engineers / Data Scientists, that will work on a development of Security Dashboard (set of visual KPI’s) for our Customer.

 

The data engineers and data scientists will apply their expertise in many areas:

• Data engineers and data scientists need to integrate data from many systems and continue to develop new models and algorithms.

• They need to create custom dashboards, visualizations or data queries to a metrics, KPIs, detection scenario specific to businesses, assets or threat vectors.

• They need to apply governance on the models created.

• They have to communicate with cyber analysts (non-data scientist) to discuss the alerts and metrics.
• Depending on the function of the Analytics tool, they need to understand which data sets are needed to ingest to/train the tool. They will have to search for such data sets and sometimes generate them, such as behavioral records of malware from a sandbox or patterns of malformed queries.

Depending on the data feed and the function, the cyber data engineers and data scientists are in turn Vulnerability analysts, Threat analysts, Event and Incident Analysts, Investigation analysts, Malware Analysts and Threat hunters. Backed by infrastructure teams and by R&D they keep the Prescriptive system at its best performance.

 

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor degree in mathematics, statistics or computer science or related field
• Experience in Power Desktop and Service, M(Power Query) and DAX
• Solid knowledge of statistical techniques.
• Skills of pattern detection over potentially large datasets.
• Experience using machine learning algorithms.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• At least basic Cyber Security knowledge.
• Focus on a project and teamwork.
• English language on B2 level.
