The Role

This role will suit individuals looking for an entry level position within the hosting industry, with a keen interest in computer hardware and are willing to get stuck in and go the extra mile. Successful applicants will be racking, configuring and deploying hardware as part of our bare metal auto deployment team. You will be working with our in-house auto deployment system, preparing racks from start to finish and deploying servers ready to be sold. The working hours will be on a Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm basis. You will be given 20 days a year holiday allowance plus Bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing and modifying data floor equipment in line with company standards, e.g., racks, switches, power bars, controllers, making, terminating and testing cables etc
• Racking servers
• Server hardware configuration and basic troubleshooting
• Processing deliveries of hardware
• Monitoring hardware stock levels
• Managing tasks in the Datacentre environment and liaising with maintenance personnel

Skills/Experience

• Good understanding of server hardware, Dell, HP and Supermicro would be beneficial

• Basic understanding of Cisco switches configuration.
• Basic understanding of hardware racking
