Teamlead IT

Are you our new Teamlead IT? We are looking for a senior software engineer with an interest in cloud services and IT systems to help us provide solid IT services for Telenor’s global cloud-based software solutions used by tens of millions of users.

Our Project:
Telenor Digital is enabling Telenor’s companies digitalize their business by developing common and highly scalable software within domains such as digital identity, mobile payment, digital distribution and big data. The solutions are already used by tens of millions of users and are expected to serve all of Telenor’s 170 million customers they start using our internet services. We operate mainly in the Scandinavian and Southeast Asian markets.

We handle most of our IT ourselves, but not everything. The role is responsible for leading the delivery of IT services to the Telenor Digital organisation to enable the effective and productive creation of digital products, as far as those are not sufficiently and adequately provided by existing Telenor wide functions.

What you will be doing:

• Run the day-to-day IT services for the company - and be the face of customer-centric IT
• Ensure we have a secured yet smooth IT setup for our employees. We need to be agile and flexible, but at the same time we also need a good level of Security
• Own our productivity tools and services, such as Atlassian Tools, Slack, Google Suite, SSO solutions
• Run projects to ensure we have the right tools - we are in a transition phase where we want to deliver a great and simple setup based on a cloud based SSO solution (Okta or JumpCloud) that organise access to productivity tools
• Build secure infrastructure that can be used by our product teams to accelerate their development. This includes the local network and VPN solutions
• Ensure we have properly secured End-User Clients - we mostly use Mac OSX, but also Linux and Windows
• Be the point of contact towards external vendors
• Be responsible for IT planning and budgeting

Any formal requirements?
Not really!  Most of the engineers at the office have a MSc or PhD in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Our working language is English; therefore, a fluent English level is required

Skills

• IT is important to all of us - you must be positive and happy to help your fellow colleagues and ensure they have a good experience when reaching out to IT
• You need to have great problem solving skills and should be able to reason about and understand distributed systems.
• You need to be able to handle several tasks at the same time - multitasking or multithreading is important.
• You may have a background in software development, operations, IT management or related fields
• You need to have a decent understanding of IT security and GDPR
• Experience with people management is a plus
• Preferably you should have some understanding of Norwegian, but fluency is not required
