Technical Architect

Position expires on 17th August 2018

What you’ll need to do:

  • Own the direction of the architecture for all our customer facing ‘touch-points’ (front-end migration to React, and our mobile apps), by implementing best practice and working day to day with our Front-End and Mobile Tech Leads
  • Scope out a road-map to internationalise our platform
  • Write code! This is a very hands-on role, there are no ivory towers here
  • Continually improving our operational processes and technology
  • Guiding teams to deliver flexible, scalable but pragmatic solutions
  • Defining and implementing the engineering strategy. You will be working with the leadership team to define technology direction influenced by the business strategy
  • Assess the viability and value of new technologies and patterns, working to ensure we align with the business’s technical aims for scalability and growth
  • Work with the wider engineering team to define and implement technical standards and improvements.

What we are looking for:

  • Have 5+ years’ experience in a Technical Architecture role, ideally with experience with JavaScript and React/React Redux
  • Have been a significant contributor to at least one IT strategy
  • You are proficient in more than one programming language. We are looking for someone who has a broad view across technology with the ability to dive into the detail when required
  • Have worked with a release pipeline that adheres to the principles of Continuous Delivery
  • Worked with services/applications built on an Event Driven Architecture
  • Have experience across the stack covering the front-end to the database and everything in between

Nice to have:

  • Mitigated the scalability/maintainability problems of a legacy system
  • Worked in a regulated industry, particularly Financial Services
  • Involved in the expansion of a product into multiple markets
  • Experience delivering talks at conferences and meetups
