About Hugo:

He does his passion (work in the IT industry with an intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship mindset) since 1998.

He did almost everything, going up the stairs, in IT, starting by help-desk/field-support, systems and network administration, infrastructures architect, major infrastructure roll-outs, software developer, software analyst, project manager, consulting, IT Manager and IS/IT Director (Turismo de Portugal, I.P, having won international prizes like the Agility Award and a nomination to the CIO Ones to Watch from CIO.com). He is also an invited teacher in a Portuguese University (ISEG/UTL).

Regarding entrepreneurship, he coCreated a small "IT infrastructures services" startup in 2001, with 21 years old. The company still exists today.

From 2011 to 2013 he embraced a challenge as Sales Manager / Partnership Manager / Business Unit Manager of Gfi in Portugal where he was responsible for the Cloud and Microsoft practice. Gfi was the #1 partner of Microsoft regarding Azure in the FY13.

Hugo Sousa was also the founder of MrCloudAdviser » http://mrcloudadviser.pt/ » a blog created to create brand awareness for the Gfi (Micosoft) Cloud offer.

In 2014 he created the startup ALPHAPPL www.alphappl.com) aiming to reduce unemployment by creating new junior software developers in a short period of time. The startup employed over 150 people in less than two years and it had a successful exit in the end of 2015!

By the end of 2014, Hugo also joined Jademy (Romania) as Board Advisor in order to replicate ALPHAPPL's best practices in Eastern Europe.

Loves: music, dogs, cars, gadgets, travel, food, meet new people and... cinema!
