Regional Sales Manager - North America
Dealfind came together in 2009 as an offshoot of MenuPalace.com. Dealfind was Canada's most visited and most profitable daily deal site, delivering thousands of new customers to businesses all across Canada and the United States. Dealfind is backed by Insight Venture Partners and Georgian Partners.

Upon launching in October of 2010, Dealfind put me in charge of building the first sales team. I was actively involved in recruiting, training, and managing new recruits, developing the correct sales process, creating targets and forecasts, and tracking metrics.

Starting with a team of only 5 reps in October of 2010 I was responsible for developing our first and only market at the time, Toronto. Within 4 months Toronto sales grew at an exponential rate and my sales team grew from 4 reps in one city to over 30 reps and we were now developing markets in 12 cities across Canada.

In March 2011 we were now ready to start expansion into the United State and it was my job to develop and hire additional Sales Reps, Team Leads, and Sales Managers to make the team size more manageable and ready to scale. This was the start of one of the most exciting periods of my corporate life.

Over the course of the next 2 years and 8 months I was a part of one of the fastest growing companies in Canada helping manage a sales staff of over 150 reps, and over 300 employees in total. Cross-department projects that I was involved with spanned from launching large scale marketing initiatives, to customer service management, and implementing quality assurance controls.

As the company and competition grew, Dealfind.com formed an alliance with its largest competitor, Teambuy.ca, and the two companies officially merged in January of 2013. I stayed onboard as the North American Sales Manager for 4 months assisting in the transition process.

I decided that after 9 exciting years with the Dealfind/MenuPalace group that it was time for a change.

Director of Sales - North America
Established in 1999 MenuPalace.com was North America's most widely used Restaurant and Hospitality Directory with more than 9,000 listing throughout North America.

In 2007, MenuPalace.com decided that it was time to start expansion into other North American markets. As the Sales Manager for North America, it was my responsibility to help develop a scalable system that would duplicate our results in Ontario across other major cities in Canada and the United States.

While in this role I was able to grow and lead both our inside and outside sales teams to successfully acquire over a thousand new business customers across North America in just 2 years. In addition to our great rate of acquisition, we were able to grow our existing book of business by 25% in those same 2 years.

As Dealfind.com (the company that MenuPalace.com would soon give birth to, and where my next role will be) was in the developmental stages, I was given the task of developing one of my reps to be my successor as I would take the lead in helping to launch and grow the sales team for Dealfind.com.

Regional Sales Manager - Southern Ontario
The excitement continued as I was promoted to the newly created position of Regional Sales Manager of Southern Ontario.

I was tasked with the goal of hiring and training more new sales reps to develop the customer base outside of the GTA.

To effectively be able to track the success of my individual sales reps I followed rigid metrics and conducted daily pre-shifts, weekly team meetings and weekly one on ones with my reps.

As part of our growing process, we realized that we needed a different system to grow cities outside of the GTA. We worked on developing a new inside sales model (call centre) to reach potential business customers in cites like Ottawa, Niagara Falls, Kingston and Kitchener/Waterloo.

The company soon realized that this model can be scaled to reach major cities all across Canada and the United States.

I now moved into a new role and pursued the development of this new and exciting growth opportunity.

Internet Marketing Consultant (Sales Rep)
I was fresh out of first year university when this opportunity was presented to me. I was into marketing, sales, and all things internet related.

Starting with no book of business, my job was to prospect and sell. Seeing as the Internet was still a relatively new form of advertising for the hospitality industry, it proved to be extra challenging to convince restaurant owners to give me the time of day.

Within my first year I set sales records that the veteran reps (the most senior having worked at MenuPalace.com for over 2 years at that time) were not even close to achieving.

I continued to set records in my new role both in new business acquisition and in growing my existing book of business.

Six months into my new role, my book of business grew so large that I was provided with a budget to hire and train a few more sales reps. I found and recruited the most qualified candidates, and began developing and executing an on-boarding and training system for the new sales reps that were joining the team.

This helped prepare me for my next role as Sales Manager - Southern Ontario.
